Barbara Nikish (Countess Alexandra Mironoff Worontzoff-Dachkoff)
Wife of Count Alexander Illarionovich Vorontsov-Dashkov, the famous pianist Dmitry Nikish (died 1936). Was also married to the composer and conductor Konstantin Konstantinov (died 1947). In emigration since 1920. She studied music and singing in Germany, continued her studies in Italy with Louis Graveur. Moved to Paris. She studied performing arts with Alexandre Benoit. She sang at the A. A. Tsereteli Russian Opera. She performed Arias in Russian, German and Italian. Tour in France with K. Konstantinov. President of the Society (circle) of Friends of the Caucasus (1929). She collaborated with the National Organization of Russian Scouts (NORR). In 1937-1938, she was one of the organizers and managers of the balls organized by the NORR. She wrote a libretto on the music of K. Konstantinov for the Opera “don Philip", played in 1940 at the Pigalle theater the main part of this Opera. She sang at the Marigny theater. In 1941, she took part in a concert of Russian choral singing in Paris. During the Second World War, she participated in the French Resistance. She performed in Paris and on the French Riviera with solo concerts (1950-1975). She sang on Spanish radio. In 1990, she visited Russia and gave Peterhof around a hundred costumes made for her by Alexandre Benoit.
