Alexander Lodigensky

Son of Alexander Lodygensky and Alexandrine born Salov. Husband of Marie von Wilcken (1883-1958) daughter of Dmitri Rudolfovich von Wilcken and Olga born Salov.

3 children: Olga (1912), Marina {1914), Alexis {1916).

Schooling at the gymnasium of Vologda (His father was governor of the Province). Graduated on 05/15/1908 from the Imperial School of Law in St. Petersburg. Military service in the St. Petersburg Lancers Regiment. Hired in 1910 at the Chancellery of State in the legislative section. Promoted to Secretary in 1912. Seconded on 25/09/1914 to the Grand-Quartier-Général (Stavka) of the Grand Duke Nicolas, in charge of civil government affairs with the rank of vice-director and from 25/11/1915 to Director.

In 1917 he was relieved of his duties by Kerensky, President of the Provisional Government, accused of complicity with General Kornilov against the Government. Arrested on the orders of the Moscow prosecutor (M. Staal) then released, he joined the first regular units of General Alexeev's volunteer army in Rostov-on-the-Don, as Head of the Foreign and interiors of the Political Administration of the White Army. He was sent to the French Mission in Moscow (General Marquis de Laguiche and General Niessel) to motivate them to convince Grand Duke Michel (then in France) to take the head of the White Movement. Appointed by General Denikine, Director of Foreign Affairs of the Government.

At the end of 1918, he was evacuated to Serbia with his family (7 people, all buried in the Russian Cemetery of Sainte Geneviève des Bois) by the US Navy destroyer “Wipple”.

At General Wrangel's request, he returned to Crimea to take up the post of Governor of the Tavrigsky Province in Simferopol.

During his stay in Serbia, he was commissioned by the Government in exile to infiltrate White Russian agents into Bolshevik Russia from the Baltic countries.

Decorations: Cross of St Anne, 3rd class, Cross of Saint Stanislaw 2nd class, Cross of the Order of Saint Sawa (Serbia), Knight of the Legion of Honour.

Goes into permanent exile in Paris on 02/01/1924, with his family where he will exercise various professions, such as, among others, taxi driver.

He was also a Member and/or President of various Organizations of Russian Emigration and above all President of the Union of Russian Organizations in France.
