Son of Anatole Ivanovich Orobchenko (1897-1979) and Nina Nikolaevna, born Ivanova (1909-1972)

He lived in Clichy (Hauts de Seine) from 1930 until his death. A large Russian colony was established there following the Bolshevik Revolution and was gathered around the parish of the Holy Trinity of which his father was the churchwarden and his grandfather, the priest (in 1945).

Igor Anatolevitch was very invested in local life in Clichy and was keen to maintain the memory of these White Russians who had become Clichy residents. He wrote many memories and anecdotes from their lives and his own. At the fall of the USSR, he became vice-president of the local cell of the France-Russia Association and participated with his wife in the organization of numerous cultural events linked to Russia.

Igor Anatolevich was also a member of the Circle of the Imperial Russian Navy, his father having been a sailor on the cruiser General Alexeiev and evacuated to Bizerte in 1920.

He married Georgette (named Tamara), née Trefert, in 1950, and had two daughters: Natalia (wife Ossorguine) and Irina (wife Tarassow). He knew his three grandsons, Adrian, Timofeï and Aleksei.

He spent his career from 1954 to 1988 at Compagnie Bancaire and at the same time developed numerous activities:

He was passionate about philately and created several collections of Russian stamps, including the unique one dedicated to “zemstvo”, stamps published in Russia from the end of the 19th century until the Russian Revolution. His collections had earned him the opportunity to be co-opted by the World Academy of Philately and by the Academy of Russian Philately in Moscow; He was also a numismatist and had assembled a magnificent collection of old Russian and French coins; Igor Anatolevitch loved to sing and part of several Russian choirs in Paris. Furthermore, he always had his guitar with him to liven up musical meetings with enthusiasm. He was a member of the Clichy School of Fine Arts and exhibited numerous paintings. Finally, he had a keen interest in the different cultures of the world. He and his wife visited most European countries as well as more distant countries such as China, India, Nepal, Russia, the USA, Canada, Indonesia, Mexico, Sri Lanka… .

The funeral of Igor Anatolevich took place on October 12, 2022 at the Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Alexander Nevsky in Paris and the latter then joined his father in the family grave.
