Lieutenant during the First World War, he took part in the Civil War as lieutenant-colonel in the Kornilov regiment until 1921. Decorated with the Order of Saint George in 1916. Exiled in France with the rank of colonel, he actively participated in religious life, in particular in the parish of the Church of Christ the Savior in Asnières.

He rests with his wife Tamara Vladimirovna born Skoblina (1900-1969); Theodosius Vladimirovich Skoblin (1897-1961); Gregory Nikolayevich Ivanov (1934-1977).
