Peter Mouravieff
A graduate of the Nikolayev naval school and naval academy, he commanded the battleship Sisoï Velikiï (1898) and the cruiser Riourik (1899). He taught mines and torpedo officer classes from 1892 to 1899. Flag officer of mines and torpedoes of the Pacific Squadron (1899-1900), he participated in the repression of the Boxer uprising on the battleship Petropavlovsk.
Rear admiral in 1910, he was appointed head of the Main Shipbuilding Administration by the Minister of the Navy Grigorovich in November 1911. Deputy to the Minister of the Navy (1915), he was appointed Vice Admiral in 1916 and participated in the Civil War in southern Russia. Evacuated to Constantinople, he went to Paris.
In 1931, he was responsible for the Historical Circle of the Navy and in 1932 he joined the Paris Marine Circle.
He is buried with: His wife O.A. Muravieva who died in 1955, Elisabeta Grigorievna Gankel (1850-1928) and Nicolas Vladimirovich Akimov (1877-1939).
